Going chapter through chapter

Of the series of life

First book is over

Now its time to write my new life

I’ve tried, I’ve tried, I’ve tried, I’ve tried

To hold on to my past

It won’t last

Time flies by so fast

The library, my true friend

Our lives vary at the stroke of a pen

Oh, and then the fiction

Is inching closer to the truth

I’m tired of pretending

I’ll write me a happy ending

I’m tired of pretending

To be the me they see

The library, my true friend

Our lives vary at the stroke of a pen

Oh, and then the fiction

Is inching closer to the truth

Shattered like my broken bones

Never know, never know

Where to go, where to go

My ever shifting home

All I’ve ever wanted was

A place to call my own

But it turns out there’s still hope

Never thought the days would come

When I’d not be on the run

Turn my 1 into a 3

Let myself be free

People put a chain on me

But I’m the one with the key

I am able to stand on my feet

You help prove I’m not weak

In turn, you’ll find what you seek

I won’t forget everything you did for me

If you don’t forget me

Broken dreams and a broken soul

Never whole, never bold

Too afraid to stand up tall

Judgement made me small

Crying eyes and twisting words

Leading me to the absurd

Depths I call my home

You help prove I’m not weak

In turn, you’ll find what you seek

I won’t forget everything you did for me

If you don’t forget me

Somedays I had to crawl out of bed

But there was still a smile on my head

The world was so big

The day was so bright

But I still sleep safe and sound at night

I thought it had it all

But then I had

My first fall

First time feeling pain like that

I was real down

Low on the ground

But I picked myself up

And got to running around

Back to being a kid again

Thought the pain would never end

Now I wanna stay like this forever

Looking at my parents eyes

Never want to be that tired

Run till the moon’s in the sky

I don’t need no lullaby

The stories we would read

Had kids that weren’t like me

They were kids that I wish I could be

They didn’t feel pain

They all looked the same

And they didn’t know the curse words to curse their own name

Back to being a kid again

Thought the pain would never end

Now I wanna stay like this forever

Looking at my parents eyes

Never want to be that tired

Run till the moon’s in the sky

I don’t need no lullaby
